Iolite Alternatives in India (2026)

Iolite is a respected docketing tool, but it was built for IP firms working across many countries. Here is how to decide if you need an alternative for India, and what the main options do well. Last verified October 2026.

Buyer’s Guide · IP Software

You have a growing list of trademarks, a few patents and some designs, and a hearing notice just arrived that nobody saw coming. Maybe the tool you use was built for another country. Maybe it tracks deadlines well but knows nothing about a case running in the Delhi High Court. This guide is for Indian IP owners and IP lawyers who are looking at Iolite or already use it, and want to know what else is out there. It is a guide by job, not a winner-takes-all ranking. The short answer
  • Iolite: a strong registry-side docketing tool for IP firms, from about $15 per month, with per-docket pricing of $2 to $4 per year plus $120 per login.
  • Global portfolios: Anaqua, Clarivate or Dennemeyer. US-first: Alt Legal. Prior art: PatSnap, Questel, IPRally.
  • All-in-one for India IP (registry plus courts): Claw, bundled in Premium at Rs 10,999 per year excl GST. Copyright registration is not tracked.

01The problem with IP tracking in India

IP work in India has two sides, and most software only covers one of them.

The registry side

This is everything that happens at IP India: filings, examination reports, publication in the Trade Marks Journal, oppositions, hearings, renewals and patent annuities. Miss one date and you can lose a right. A conflicting mark published in the Journal gives you a short window to act.

The court side

This is infringement and passing off suits, rectification petitions, appeals and orders. Many of these sit in the High Court IP Divisions, such as the Delhi High Court IPD. A registry tool will not tell you that your competitor was listed before a judge this morning.

Tools built for other countries

Many well-known docketing products were built for the US or for global patent portfolios. They can handle Indian deadlines, but Indian court data, Journal conflict alerts and rupee pricing are often not their focus. That gap is why Indian teams search for Iolite alternatives in the first place.

02What good IP software looks like

Before you compare tools, decide which of these matter to you.

  • Scope of rights: trademarks, patents, designs, geographical indications and copyright. Not every tool covers all five.
  • Deadline tracking: renewals, annuities, response dates and hearings, with alerts that reach the right person.
  • Conflict watch: a way to spot new marks that look like yours, by text, by sound and by look.
  • Court visibility: orders, hearings and cause lists for IP cases, not only registry events.
  • Volume fit: a tool for 50 matters is not the same as a tool for 5,000.
  • Price and tax: a clear price, in a currency you can budget, with GST stated.
Registry deadlines tell you what is due. Court tracking tells you what is already happening. Indian IP teams need both.

03Iolite: what it does and what it costs

Iolite is a cloud IP management suite made for law firms and IP departments. It is a real strength in registry-side docketing. Its own trademark page describes automated deadline tracking, sync with major IP offices, and handling of oppositions, publications, registrations, renewals, examination reports and hearings across 170+ jurisdictions, with India named among them. It also lists an India contact number. Iolite trademark management page.

For very high-volume IP-firm docketing, Iolite is one of the specialist leaders, and we say so plainly. If your daily work is managing thousands of dockets for clients, it deserves a serious look.

Iolite pricing (as of October 2026)

  • IP management plans are listed from about $15 per month.
  • Trademark management is listed from about $280 per year.
  • The per-docket model on its trademark page: Standard $2 per docket per year, Professional $3, Enterprise $4, each plus $120 per staff login per year. Enterprise adds $120 per client login.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Whether Indian GST applies to an Indian buyer is not stated on the page we checked, so confirm it with Iolite.

Scope: Iolite sells trademark, patent, design and copyright management. A dollar price per docket is easy to understand, but it grows with every matter you add, and you pay in foreign currency.

Prices were read from Iolite’s own site and review listings in October 2026 and can change. Check the live page before you decide.

04Iolite alternatives in India, grouped by job

These are not ranked against each other. They do different jobs, so the order below is just a reading order. Pick by the job you need done.

1

Legistify (IPR management module)

An Indian legal operations platform with contract, litigation and IPR modules.

Strengths
  • Covers IPR management for trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs and tradenames, per its own site.
  • Sits next to litigation management and contract lifecycle tools, so legal ops teams get one vendor.
  • Indian company with a demo-led buying process.
Keep in mind
  • Built mainly for enterprise legal operations. Pricing is subscription based and shown on request, so we cannot quote a number.
  • Individual IP lawyers and small firms may find it larger than they need.

Best for Corporate legal teams that want IP, litigation and contracts under one enterprise vendor.

2

Anaqua, Clarivate and Dennemeyer

Global IP management and annuity platforms for large portfolios.

Strengths
  • Strong for multi-country filings, global docketing and annuity payments.
  • Built for big corporate portfolios and large IP departments.
Keep in mind
  • Enterprise pricing, usually on quote.
  • India court tracking is not the main focus.

Best for Companies filing in many countries that need global docketing and annuities.

3

Alt Legal

IP docketing and filing software built around US trademarks and patents.

Strengths
  • A good fit if your work is USPTO or Canadian first.
  • Clean workflow for US trademark and patent matters.
Keep in mind
  • US focus, so it is a weaker match for work centred on IP India.

Best for Teams whose main filings are in the United States or Canada.

4

PatSnap, Questel and IPRally

AI search tools for prior art and patent analysis.

Strengths
  • Strong for prior-art, landscape and structure searches.
  • Useful before you file, not just after.
Keep in mind
  • These are search and analysis tools, not docketing systems. They do not replace deadline tracking.

Best for R&D and patent teams that need deep prior-art search.

5

Red Points and Corsearch

Brand protection and mass takedown platforms.

Strengths
  • Built for finding and removing infringing listings at scale on marketplaces.
  • Strong when counterfeits are the main pain.
Keep in mind
  • They police the market. They do not manage your registry deadlines.

Best for Consumer brands facing counterfeits on online marketplaces.

6

Wellspring and Inteum

Technology transfer and invention lifecycle software.

Strengths
  • Made for universities and research institutes that license inventions.
Keep in mind
  • Narrow fit. Not meant for trademark or design portfolios.

Best for Technology transfer offices.

No tool wins every row. Claw is not strongest at global docketing or deep prior-art search, and the table shows that.

06How to choose

If you run an IP firm with thousands of dockets across countries, Iolite or a global platform like Anaqua, Clarivate or Dennemeyer is the safer choice. If your filings are mostly in the US, look at Alt Legal. If you need prior-art search, add PatSnap, Questel or IPRally. If counterfeits on marketplaces are the issue, use Red Points or Corsearch.

If your IP is mostly in India and you want the registry and the courts in one place, an India-first all-in-one tool makes more sense than paying in dollars for a tool built elsewhere. Also compare Indian trademark service sites. See Claw vs Legistify and Claw vs Markify and Corpbiz trademark watch.

A simple test: list your next ten deadlines and your open court matters. If both lists matter to you, pick a tool that shows both.

07Where Claw fits

Claw is an all-in-one legaltech platform for Indian advocates, law firms, and corporate legal teams, combining AI-based case search, an AI legal assistant (Legal GPT), case management, and compliance automation across all Indian courts and tribunals.

For IP in India, Claw covers both sides in one platform. Its IPR Solutions tab tracks IP India registry matters across trademarks, patents, designs and geographical indications. It watches the Trade Marks Journal and flags conflicting marks using text, phonetic and visual matching. It lists pending compliances, including trademark renewals and patent annuity and response deadlines, plus pending hearings from trademark and patent filings, with related documents, tasks and activities.

On the court side, Claw tracks IP litigation across every Indian court that has a case website. You can find infringement cases by party name, follow the High Court IP Divisions (for Delhi, by case-type code or by court, number and party), and see hearings, orders and cause lists. IP judgment research runs over 30 crore+ judgments with LegalGPT. In all, Claw covers 9,102 courts, benches and forums, with results in under 5 seconds. The Supreme Court is covered from 1950 and High Courts from 1990.

That makes it a strong all-in-one pick for IP in India. It is not the right tool for everything:

  • Claw does not yet track copyright registration at the Copyright Office. For copyright it covers court cases only.
  • For global multi-country docketing and annuities, use Anaqua, Clarivate or Dennemeyer.
  • For very high-volume specialist IP-firm docketing, Iolite remains a leader.
  • For AI prior-art search, use PatSnap, Questel or IPRally.

Pricing: IP is bundled in the Premium plan at Rs 1,099 per month or Rs 10,999 per year, excluding GST, or in Enterprise on quote. There is no separate IP-only plan. Individual advocates also have a free plan, and enterprises do not. Claw does not use customer case documents to train AI models. Visit clawlaw.in for current plans.
